OxyPaks XL – Oxygen Booster
When your wastewater lagoon (or decorative pond) needs an easy-to-apply granular oxygen source, reach for OxyPaks XL.
The design of this bio-stimulant accelerates the bacteria metabolic consumption of sludge. The OxyPaks XL process directly interacts with your sludge and muck for up to 45 minutes after application, delivering granular oxygen. One side effect of this action is muck can rise to the surface of your lagoon – this is ideal for the VitaStim Sludge Reducer process. Many clients purchase both products to use in tandem.
OxyPaks XL is also used to stimulate the bacterial environment in wastewater plants with specific conditions like toxicity. Call us to determine if this will work in your conditions.
Because OxyPaks XL is an easy-to-apply granular oxygen source, you may have the right system or set-up where the product will drive results with a direct application.
Secondary results and benefits from OxyPaks XL application, include:
- Prevention of downstream odours
- Removal of the causes of existing odours
- Promotion of anaerobic bacteria metabolic activity
Science
These packs are easy to apply and as they dissolve, they go to work. Peroxide encounters the sludge in your lagoon and penetrates and breaks apart the muck layer. This action increases surface area in the muck, which enables your bacteria to better interact with the nutrients and bulk in the muck, improving the rate of muck reduction. Think of it as introducing oxygen to the roots of your lawn with punch-hole aeration. As a side benefit, odours often noticeably reduce as oxygenation improves in the anaerobic muck layer.
